About me

Hi! I’m Lindsay Carroll, a registered Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and difficult life adjustments.

I have been working in the mental health space since 2014, earning my master’s in Art Therapy from Florida State University in 2017 (Go Noles).

I have supported individuals and families overcoming homelessness in transitional housing, child survivors of crime (predominantly sexual abuse and assault) through the local Children’s Advocacy Center, and treating individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma and other life difficulties in an outpatient group practice. Because a large portion of my experience has been working with high-trauma populations, I approach therapy from a trauma-informed perspective, seeking to understand the lived experience which shapes the individual in front of me.

My clients typically describe me as warm, kind, supportive, and occasionally funny. I strive to create a space where you feel accepted, so that we can gently challenge the patterns holding you back.

I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy, allowing me to tailor treatment to each individual before me. I tend to lean humanistic and person-centered in my therapeutic orientation, while pulling in CBT, relational therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness.

Outside of the therapy space, I love to travel and spend time with friends and family. As a former collegiate athlete, I enjoy remaining active, which is an important balance to inner foodie. Whether it is trying a new restaurant, hitting the slopes, masterminding my next creative outlet, or simply laughing at my cats, I believe life’s best moments are a playful blend of creativity, connection, and adventure.

“Your skills have been nothing short of miraculous in helping me move forward from my trauma. I’m still in awe thinking about how you connected my trauma to other events in my past, which gave me the understanding I needed to finally sort out my own feelings. Again, thank you so much!”

“Yesterday after we left the session, [my child] probably for the first time in many years said “I feel really good!”. That meant a lot to me. I asked what does she mean and what made her feel that way. She said she felt really relaxed during the session. I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU! That’s exactly how I would love to see her, relaxed and feeling good.”
