Golden Art Therapy and Counseling provides tailored mental health counseling and art therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. I help individuals understand their stories to build insight that allows for healing and growth. My goal is to help you identify unhelpful and defeating patterns, while reminding you of your strengths to overcome them.
Golden is conveniently located in Falls Church City, off of i66, and less than 1 mile from the East Falls Church metro station. This location is easily accessible by those in Arlington, Falls Church, McLean and Fairfax County.
Individual Therapy
Golden primarily provides Individual Therapy sessions. Individual sessions last about 50 minutes. During that time, we balance processing current events and challenges, learning about new coping skills, identifying thinking traps, and explore and develop communication styles. We also will discuss changes in symptoms, to keep track of where your mental health is. We may include a creative intervention to externalize the experience, gain perspective, strengthen self-awareness, for grounding, mindfulness, creativity, and more. Our sessions will be confidential and nonjudgmental, and we will focus on building a trusting and supportive relationship.
I welcome individuals of all backgrounds and identities.

Art therapy
Art therapy is a form of therapy that integrates the creative process of art-making with the insights of psychotherapy. It's an exploration of emotions, thoughts, and personal experiences through visual expression. No prior art experience is necessary; all you need is an open mind and willingness to try.
In the art-making process, you may experience patterns of behavior that reflect your current struggles, or you may see symbols in the artwork that relate to your life. Art can provide a mirror to ourselves as we cultivate self-understanding.
Through art therapy, you may discover unrecognized emotions, resolve inner conflicts, reduce stress, and foster self-esteem and self-awareness.

Talk therapy
Talk therapy, also known as psychotherapy, is a journey of self-exploration, self-discovery, and self-improvement that we undertake together. It is a process where we delve into your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, gently challenging unhelpful patterns and introducing new, healthier ways of being.
In our sessions, your voice is the center of focus. We listen to your stories, your concerns, your dreams, and your fears, then help you understand them in new and deeper ways. Through guided conversations, we aim to illuminate the paths to your well-being, building on your strengths and resilience.

In-person or remote sessions
Golden understand that everyone's lifestyles differ, which is why Golden offers both in-person and remote sessions.
In-person sessions are held in a tranquil and secure office, designed to provide a safe haven for you to express, explore, and grow. Here, you can experience the connection of face-to-face interaction, cultivating a deeper therapeutic relationship.
Our remote sessions, conducted via secure video conferencing, offer you the flexibility and convenience of connecting from the comfort of your own space. This virtual format allows us to extend our support to those who may be physically distant, have busy schedules, or simply prefer the comfort of their own home.
Virtual services are available to anyone in the state of Virginia or DC where Lindsay is licensed. Lindsay is a registered telehealth provider in Florida and can see individuals residing in the state of Florida virtually.
Age groups
Child Therapy (ages 10 - 13)
Children, just like adults, can benefit from a supportive space to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and navigate the complexities of their world. Because I love to work in metaphor, I generally work with children ages 10 and older. According to Piaget, abstract thought development (formal operational stage) begins around 11 years old. Being an optimist, we can get started a 10 years old. For younger children, I recommend play therapy. If you think your child under 10 years old and I would be a good fit, please schedule a consult call and we can explore if it’s a match.
Adolescent Therapy (ages 13 - 18)
Adolescence, a period of rapid growth and change, can be both exciting and challenging. As young people navigate this transition, they often grapple with identity issues, peer pressure, academic stress, family conflicts, and emotional health concerns. Getting started in therapy can help resolve a lot of these underlying questions that often manifest as depression and/or anxiety. As parents, you see a change in your teens mood, energy level, sleep, eating habits, hygiene, and panic. I’m here to help create bridges of understanding to create a more peaceful environment during these challenging years. I offer a confidential, compassionate and understanding environment where adolescents can feel seen, heard, and validated.
Young Adult Therapy (ages 18 - 23)
This stage of life, while filled with growth and opportunity, can also present unique challenges as you navigate the path towards independence, identity formation, and responsibility. Young Adult Therapy sessions address the emotional, social, and developmental needs of individuals aged 18 to 25. I provide a supportive environment to explore and navigate issues such as self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship concerns, academic pressures, career uncertainties, and life transitions. We will work together to identify your goals and develop a personalized treatment plan that meets your unique needs.

It can be exhausting as we juggle all of our various roles while trying to navigate the ups and downs of life. That’s why I am here to offer individual therapy services tailored to your needs. Together, we will work to identify the root causes of your struggles and overcome the obstacles holding you back so that you can live a more fulfilling life. Whether you’re struggling with a specific issue, or need a supportive space to feel heard, I’m here to support you every step of the way. I am committed to understanding who you are at your most core self. Let’s take the first step towards a happier, healthier you.
